First up off the rank, I’ve decided that The Norths cannot remain as such, the ‘ths’ is too hard to pronounce, especially when people are drunk i.e. “This bands pretty good, what are they called… what? … The whats?…” etc. Aside from the name change we’re doing pretty well with gigs booked for the next month @ the Bondi Winter Festival, The Landsdowne and a house party tonight!
I finished my uni exams, I’ll find out whether I passed my maths subjects in mid-July… I’m pretty sure I failed calculus though
I’ve written a few songs for the as-yet untitled 2007 collection, but I’ve still got to upload the last songs from ‘The Light Room’.
Nothing much else to report really, everythings pretty even kilter.

Rollin Rollin
Another long while between blogs, but things have progressed since my last entry.
For one thing The Norths had our first real gig at the Hopetoun, and I think it went really well. We were all very relaxed and felt good the whole way through. So I’m pleased as double-spiked punch about that. Also on that front, we’re probably going to lay down some recordings in the coming weeks, so I might have some band mp3s to upload soon.
On the song-writing front, I’ve finished off the latest 2007 ‘album’ The Light Room with “Not Now Josephine”, “Rosethorn Valentine”, “Return to Me”, “New Day at Dawn” and “Song or Annabelle”. It was kind-of unexpected finish, as I thought I’d been writing songs quite sparsely but turns out I had written a collections worth. Now I’ve got to ruminate on a good title for the next one!
Visually, my hand-eye-pencil moves have improved I think, since I started uni again (because I draw in almost every class
I’ve been a bit lax with uploading the new sketches, but scouts honor, I’ll do it before the next blog.
My uni exams are over in two weeks, so I’ll be pretty boring until then but I have a creative plan for the three week break (not telling too much don’t want to jinx it).
Oh and Bob Dylan is coming to Australia in a few months and I’m pretty excited about going to see him (he is like my hero).
Okay au-revoir internet world, I’ll return with more news, when next time permits.
